Beginning, Middle, and End
Important events happen in an order. That order helps a story make sense.
Sequence clues
Ask three questions
- What happened first?
- The beginning introduces the character, place, or event that starts the story.
- What happened next?
- The middle shows important actions and changes.
- What happened last?
- The end shows how the events finish.
Story example
Nora's sunflower
Nora planted a sunflower seed beside the fence. Each morning, she watered the soil and checked for changes. One day, a green sprout pushed up into the sunlight.
