  1. A right triangle has legs 5 cm and 12 cm. What is its hypotenuse?

    Answer: 13 cm

    5² + 12² = 25 + 144 = 169, and √169 = 13.

  2. Two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal. One corresponding angle is 68°. What is the other corresponding angle?

    Answer: 68°

Corresponding angles formed by a transversal across parallel lines are equal.

  3. A composite prism has two non-overlapping volumes of 120 cm³ and 45 cm³. What is the total volume?

    Answer: 165 cm³

    Volume is additive for non-overlapping parts: 120 + 45 = 165 cm³.
